Environmental Health Literacy is an emerging field of study that incorporates content and strategies from the environment, health and social sciences to promote understanding of how environmental pollutants affect health. Climate change health literacy, on the other hand, is a field of study that has recently started to develop in our country and in the world, which includes the reflections of the environmental effects of climate change on health, the scope and effects of measures to reduce and adapt.
In the transfer of information on health issues, it is of great importance to convey the right subject to the right target audience, in the right way, with the appropriate methodology, at the right time. Considering that misunderstandings can affect the health of individuals and societies, it is important to transfer the curricula that have been proven to be effective and prepared by expert teams to target audiences. Another issue is that the subjects learned create a behavioral change on individuals and societies, so that the effectiveness of the trainings can be mentioned with the use of information. Monitoring effectiveness with evidence-based measurements at all stages and demonstrating the benefits of studies is an effective climate advocacy strategy. It should be noted that measuring the effects of climate change in terms of economic and health outcomes is much more effective than just discussing the environment.
